Hello everybody.

I have two questions:

In the document: XRAY Gear Charts Table (ratio 1.9), the part that named: Rubber Tire Rollout Chart (63mm diameter)
What is this?
This reffer to get more traction in low levels of RPM???

About spur:
For asphat, the bigger spur is better than smaller spur???
I think that bigger spur give you more traction, is this correct??

yes or more speed:)
bigger pinion spur gives better top speed but less acceleration
smaller spur gear gives better top speed but less acceleration

smaller pinion gives more acceleration but worse top speed
bigger spur gear gives more acceleration but worse top speed

64p is more silent and less stones on crap asphalt goes between tooth's. But i use 48 p.

The main difference is that with 64P you have more fine tuneing/gearing options. You can increase or decrease your FDR in finer increments. I run 64P indoors and outdoors without any problems.

As far as FDR goes, RW racing makes Xray style spur gears down to 72T, which should get you lower than you would ever need to go.

Lots of manufacturers make pinions. I use PRS - Precision Racing Systems - pinion gears, they have 64P in a range of 16-65. They are high quality items and the price is right (around US $5).

I've never tried Xray pinions .. I'm sure they are nice, but they should be nice for the price you pay, which is almost 3x as much as others (US $13). Xray also has gaps in their range, like not having the 45T you are looking for.[/quote]


The xray ones are real nice and they seem to last longer than some others i had before
they are also real narrow. i had problems with an other manufacturer because pinion was to wide and rubbed the belt - fast wearing and loss of speed
