XRAY - Model racing cars

How long should you go before replacing some parts with the ECS's? I have some play in the front wheels. You can turn the wheel forward 3 or 4 mm before the driveshaft starts to move. When does this become to much play? Thanks

I would re build now

It sounds like the pin has worn , Also when you have buil it add some shrinkwrap tube around it , this stops the dust and sand and all the rubbish from the track getting it , and if it does break then the shrinkwrap will hold it all together

As well as shrinkwrap i build mine with tamiya anti wear grease then wrap them up

I do the same but I would make the shrink wrap shorter than that, as it will rub on the axle on lock.

In fact it looks to me like those shiny rings on the driveshaft are where they have rubbed already.
It won't ruin them but it will add some drag which is exactly what they are supposed to reduce.

A total noob, when it comes to Racing TC, and rc in general... I'm also from Europe so your abbreviations makes no sense to me.

The big deal, as far as I can tell, is that there now are two joints instead of one on the shaft, making the bending of the shaft more subtle, than if it were to bend in just on place?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, trying to learn as much as possible about this new hobby of mine...

Recently got an old Losi XXX-S for my son... afterwards I wanted to join in on the fun at the track and subsequently bought a used T2 008 from one of the experienced drivers at the local track...

It's been great fun driving the car but its far more technical than the off road rc (Traxxas Rustler) I'm used to driving.
