XRAY - Model racing cars

am thinking to get this for my 808 2010 are thy good or are normal one who you get when you buy 808 beter ?

I used the Fiber disks Xrays sells with the hardened pads, they work well except in the cold or if you spills a little fuel on them, disks never wore, but pads got shaved pretty quick imo. I ended up sticking with the steel disks and buying the K$%sho pads, just some dremel work to make fit nicely and have not have any issues other than they stop so much harder then anything I've ever used before. Alot of the guys I talk with stick with the stock brakes as they work the best for them, i liked the carbon until i went to a couple of races when it was 50 degrees f. had no stopping at all and no time to change disks and pads.

I used the carbon discs yesterday for the first time and it stopped the car really fast. Ambient temperature was around 13 C.

Carbon doesnt work well when cold. It has to be heated up for them to work. So if you use a lot of braking it should be fine in cooler weather. But be ready when you hit that first corner. You may not slow down at all.

We have a pro stock type drag car " real one " and the brakes are carbon fiber. We have to drag them to heat them before the car gets decent braking. Same for any carbon fiber brake surface. Just keep them warm while driving.

Hey gents just letting you know we have been running these Brake pads and have quiet a few liters on them they never fade even in a 1 hr main the bite you get from these is some thing that needs to be felt to believe, The pads don't chew the Xray disc either and in the XT8 they stop it on a dime.... Habao Hyper yellow brakes they are a direct fit and work real well....

these work a real treat........i have been running for ages to.....the only decent parts hobag ever made ..........no more glueing on those pesky fibre pads. fuel spills dont seem to effect them either.. and the springs keep them off the disc when not being used..so no chance of any brake drag. the only other bits i use is the AE RC8 brake pad bolts.. they have a long smooth shank so the pads dont have a chance to hang up on the threaded section..super smooth operation.

The carbon fiber discs in combination with the hardened pads are very docile, stopp great and don't work when cold as said. But they need some maintenance all 5 liters or so. I always pull them over some wet 2000 sandpaper then.

seeing the pictures, hyper yellow brakepads
seem abrassive for those steel brakediscs ?

Hey Guys.....Big Daddy Xray must have been listening...........this style disc pad is now an option on the XB9; they are called 'Ultra Efficient" p/n 354131 for 4 including return springs.
