Hi,

Lot's of questions :P

When do I need to use rebound and when don't I ? who use's it and who dosent ?
Who drills their shocks and/or use's the foam ?

What's the best starting wt in oil to use and what range to you use eg. if 350cst was a good all round what other's would you use ? and how do I know when I need to go thicker or thinner ?

Do you use a certain wt for carpet and a different wt for asphalt ? or for certain track temperature's

Thanks.

I tend to run much thicker oil on carpet, 700cst front etc. But on asphalt it's normally 350-550

I'm still trying to learn exactly when you are supposed to change etc.

I always use zero rebound indoor and outdoor as this just helps give more traction. Running rebound can take away some traction. I know a lot of top drivers who also run zero everywhere. I have tried to use rebound on lots of occasions....but we have a disagreement haha

As for oil thickness Indoor on carpet I run from 400 - 500W oil and the same outdoor unless its a very warm day then I will go thicker

Standard shock setup I use indoor and outdoor on the T3'11 is

Drilled cap
Zero pressure
12mm shaft length
450MM oil
No foam

:)

Thanks Skiddins & Stefan.

So how does zero rebound give you more traction ?

What oil thickness would you go upto on a hot day then ?

Why 400-500 (is that Xray oil?) and how do you know/decide when you need to go thicker or thinner ?

Thanks.

Thanks.

So what sort of track temp would you use 700 ? And what temps do you use thinner oil 400,500,600 etc ?

Today my car really struggled with grip, probably because of tyres more than the amount of rebound but Schumacher recommend 100% rebound for low grip and reduce the rebound as the grip improves, now I'm confused :?

When using non drilled caps what causes the shaft not to be able to be pushed in when the cap is tightened ? is it to much oil ? I know I have no air in them and when I bleed a little oil out the shaft moves all the way in.

How often do you rebuild your shocks ? before the start of a race day ? during the race day qulifiers/finals etc ? Do you use fresh oil on each rebuild or just top up with new ?

Thanks.

For asphalt I tend to rebuild them as often as possible since fresh oil give more traction. Maybe 2 or 3 times per race.

For carpet I rebuild them for every meeting so between 10-15 runs.
