XRAY - Model racing cars

Choice between a 2mm and 2,5mm chassis in the kit. So an asphalt and carpet version.

how about a 1/18th pan car.

I think that the link car needs following:
-Shorter lipo only chassis. Shorter from the front, between body post and arms. This to avoid scrubbing to carpet. Good idea would be like in a V-Dezign 4.0 car.
-More tuning options (side spring, center shock spring)
-More rear ride height parts, with 0.25/0.5mm difference. It's a shame that you can't run below 42.5mm tires with this without aftermarket parts.
-A bit wider rear pod - everyone seems to run with the max 172mm (or near it).
-Lowered center shock position. This can be done by using part #373072 and with 1mm shim.
-Maybe possibility to remove play from front arms by screw&nut (like in CRC, Serpent, etc.)
-Shorter side links with smaller balls - For smoother suspension action.

Today was my first packs with the car. I really like the quality and metric stuff in general.

Things to keep:
-Diff with thrust bearing
-Open but strong rear pod
-Front end that doesn't need dremel to put it together.

Some optional lower steering blocks.

Yeah agreed,

-different sized steering blocks, to adjust front roll
-rear ride height adjusters up to 3mm, so we can run those rear tires down a bit more
-some stiffer center springs ( i know they're in the works, but we've been waiting for a long time)

Other then those, I'm really happy with how consistent the car is, as well as the quality, i haven't broken a part yet (not surprised with it being an Xray). Hopefully we get some of these option parts soon, these cars are super competitive as is, but would be that much better.

First nationals done with XII Link.

Ran with the new gold center spring. Was 9th so not so bad

Improvements needed:
-center pivot that doesn't allow the ball to move this much (it needed quite a lot of work to remove the slop)
-stiffer quasiwave chassis, the current one is good for low grip tracks but when the grip increases, rear wheels tend to rise off the track and car is difficult to drive. One thing helped a lot for this, 250cst oil in the side shock.

Next race is going to be on high grip track, need to test more....

Yes it would be nice to have 3.0 mm rear height adjusters too.

But it would be even more nice, if the rear bulkheads would come in a "version 2" or "Link specific" version wich were 0.5 mm lower and the mounting for the rear pod upper plate were raised 1.5 mm.

This would give a lower center of gravity for the motor, no need for 3.0 mm ride height adjusters (the new 2.5 mm would be enough) and no need for shims to adjust the space for the side shock absorber either on the rear brace and/or the rear pod upper plate.

The current bulkheads were designed for the T-bar version, wich have a 2.0 mm chassis, and it would be nice to have specific designed rear bulkheads for the thicker 2.5 mm link chassis too.
