XRAY - Model racing cars

Well I compete in the modified class, but I still gear between 7,5 and 8,5 on all of our indoor tracks.

Might be gearing lower in the Nordic Winter Race next weekend (18-20/2) but I think that track will be larger than most indoor tracks (600m2!!). I hope that as many of you who are not too far away have had a look at the invitation. If not, here it is:

We are hoping that this will grow to be as big as the DHI in Denmark, which by the way was a great experience!!

Well, back to topic. I’m sure Xray R&D will find a solution if changes need to be made. I think that a lot of the foam races in the US requires very high gearing ratios for the modified classes.

When running a 12 turn motor indoors at my local club I have to use gearing of 9.5 to 10 based on exact track layout. How the hell am I going to gear this new car!

Remember, in the UK most of the indoor tracks are really small. Even our local outdoor track requires gearing of about 7.0 to 8.0 for 12 turn!

If you can't gear the car for these situations it isn't going to be fast! Regardless of how good the weight distribution is or what type of front diff your running!

Has anybody looked at pictures of the tamiya TRF side by side with the FK05..........

I take it putting the camber links on the front bulkhead is no more usefull??
there are no holes in the bulkhead like FK has

Q) the car doesn`t need to use the bulkhead position cos the shock tower is good enough??

The front tower is the same on the FK &FK05??
