The flyweight comes together as one piece. Just wanted to double check that you do cut them and they are put on flywheel as three seperate weights?

Unless Xray has changed the design of the clutch, the flyweights (which are black in colour) come as three separate items. Are you sure you are not looking at the clutch shoe which is yellow, white or possibly red?

I think you did get a normal shoe, they do com in several materials and so colors but you mentioned gaps to cut, I have seen that before and that does sound like a flyweight.
Cutting normal shoes to the right equal size without the right tools is not easy, i made a tool for it:

I agree with Roelof - cutting shoes to make flyweights is an art. It is imperative that each flyweight is exactly the same weight otherwise it will affect the engagement of the clutch. I still don't believe Xray would give you a one piece flyweight that you need to cut into three. Puzzled!

Cut 'em... seen it before. Almost like the cutting blade hasnt gone deep enough.
I'd cut them, they are supposed to be 3 seperate pieces.
Cheers

Really strange for an Xray part (s). One thing is for sure - they won't work if they are not three separate pieces as they rely on centrafugal force to slide each flyweight up the taper on the engine flywheel in order to engage the clutch shoe with the clutch bell.

Hi,

Flyweights has to be cut into three pieces. Please note that they keep together by very thin film that can be easily removed with knife. No worry it would not effect the weight of the flywheights.
