Hello,

the T3 manual of the T3R says to use plastic nuts from the 'last aid bag' to fix the lipo inside of the chassis.

1) There's no 'last aid bag'.
2) Even if there would be these plastic nuts, they would sit direct under the belt and would cause massive friction between them and the belt.

Please no solutions like using tape to keep the lipo outside, too, or countersunk the hole that takes the pin of the NiMH alternative for using the non-existing nuts (at least in my kit).

So please go ahead.

PS: So far the quality of the T3R is excellent for the car it's meant to be :!:

When will the new upper bulkheads be released? I meant those used on Alexander Hagberg's car whr the inner camber link is now directly mounted to the bulkhead.

Thanks Mark. I know that they should be in a moulding frame. But they just are missing. I got them from my importeur for free ...

... also the flatspotted CVD-pins and all the damaged parts these non-flatspotted CVD-pins have already caused. I know it could be self-made but nevertheless ... I bought a Xray, didn't I? I can't understand the "penny-pinching" on some of the important parts of the "R"! This doesn't match the really good quality of the parts itself!

Again ... basically a GREAT car for the target!

Bought a T3'11 and almost finished! Except for 3 small parts I am missing. The outer shim plate of the diff part #930138 and #301314(-K) had only 2 black shims, I replaced with 3x0.5mm shims on each side and so I did replace the diff shim from another old Corally differential.

I was wondering which motor gearing is fine to use with a 5.5 turn motor and 84 dp spurgear? To get a speed of about 90-95 kph.

Hello Daan,

if you want to calculate the size of the proper pinion gear for a designated top speed you need to know the motor rpm and the diameter of the tyres used.
When i.e. your motor makes 45,000 rpm, your diameter of tyres is 63mm and your wished top speed is 95 km/h then you would need a 28T 48P pinion gear on a stock-geared T3.

Please do not forget to check the allowed gear ratio for your motor.

Hi duartev,

I posted a simplified formula already but in case you want to put all parameters in the formula directly then you have to use these detailed versions below:


pinion gear = spur gear * diff * top speed [km/h] * 1,000,000 / pulley / tyre diameter [mm] / pi / motor revs [rpm] / 60

top speed [km/h] = pinion gear * pulley * tyre diameter [mm] * pi * motor revs [rpm] * 60 / spur gear / diff / 1,000,000


The allowed gear ratio of a certain motor can be found at the motor manufacturer's site usually.
