couple mugen boys run the same engine as me and they swear to get it quick the gearing needs to be right.

its not something i have played about with much i have always run os speeds which imo never lacks in power.

so im going to try and change the gearing they say they run 13/ 44 whats the XB808 equivalent (is it even possible to match between cars? ) cheers

for the overall ratio you will need also the pinion & crown gear size , but its probably 15/42 in 808 terms.

I believe the MBX6 uses a 42T ring gear and 12T pinion creating a 3.5 internal ratio. If they are running 44/13 for spur/clutch, the final drive is 11.846.

To match that with the 808, you will need to use 41T/15T spur and clutchbell to get to 11.753. That will be the closest to the Mugen ratio possible with standard 808 spur gears. If you want to try and shoe horn a 44T spur in the 808, a 16T bell will put you at 11.88, but you may have clearance issues with the chassis, top plate and servo, so probably not worth the risk for a very small gain.

so hypothetically what characteristics does this gearing have compared to the stock set up? and will it effect balance in any way ? cheers
