mine was soft id say, i can get a 2mm shock spacer in there... i wouldnt go higher than 4mm tho.

what would be the difference between
5000/5000/3000 set-up
and
5000/10000/3000
question off, steering and rear sticking on

for a loose, bumpy track, which would be better 5,5,5 or 5,5,3...?

Depends, the rear diff isn't for bumps it is for traction. Typically a 3k will have more steering then the 5k. As the traction lowers on the track the higher I go in the rear.

I use 7-5-3 on a dusty, bumpy, low traction track and would like to epxeriment with 5-7-3, 5-5-3 and 5-5-5. The question is a bit stupid as I am fairly new to this but since I currently have 7-5-3 can I swap the middle diff with the front diff to get a 5-7-3 setup?

if you mean take the front diff out and put it in the center then the answer is no ! front and rear diffs are the same the center is different .. i would suggest you remove them and have a look.
it doesnt take long to remove the diffs and change oils during a race meeting .
