I'm still running the XRay T1 FK04 and about to explore the 1/10 pan car.
Never had one before.
Can you please tell me the difference in handling between a 4wd touring car and the rwd pan car?

It's for an outside track which has low grip because of the amount of dust/sand (living/working in the United Arab Emirates).

I'm interested to get the Link, because it supports LiPo/LiFe AND using metric screws.

If you put the right power into the pan car (not 3.5 with 2 cell lipo) it will be a very smooth ride. The steering response is great with these cars and they are easy to drive. Tire selection will help on the low traction track. You will also have less maintenance then on a TC. Less shocks, bearings & diffs to clean & rebuild so you might be able to some between rounds. At least the diff anyway. I find the pan car much easier to setup as there is less to setup.

is there a pan car class where you race?

Unfortunately no pan car class here.
About 7 people just purchased F1 cars, while I prefer the pan car.

I'm in the middle of transitioning to the current technology, starting with the batteries.
Still using the old ESC and brushed motor though.
Planning to install the 23T brushed motor, using 2S Lipo. Or maybe just a silver can to have the same speed as the F1 cars other guys are running.

What tire do you suggest for the front and rear? Do they wear out quickly?
Also what car body?

I'm not sure which tire will work best with your track. I've only used the Jaco or CRC spec WGT tires. With a 23t or silver can the tire ware will be very good with the spec tires. You may need to find something close to what the F1 guys are using.

Body, any 200mm body will work. We use the HPI GT bodies but you can look at the Protoform or Parma WGT bodies as well.

Mine is done!

needs new connector tubes on the ESC to fit the european 4mm connectors. And battery connector tubes. Body is cut and ready for paint, pics comming when done.

I'm building a new X10 Link after running a CRC GenX10 for a couple of years.

When will Xray have Optional Harder Centre Shock Springs available? I was disappointed that my selection of 12th Scale Shock Springs do not fit because the inner diameter is too small. We have been running much stiffer centre springs on the GenX10 Cars with 2 Cell Lipo.

Also I would like to see a wider body mount that allow for shorter rear body posts resulting in less body movement.

We're racing on CRC Pro Ozite Carpet at Lou's Speedway near London Ontario Canada. I'm anxious to see how the Xray compares to my CRC GenX10.

I'm impressed by the build quality of the new car.
