you have to buy the whole set because the pistons in alu shock have different diameter as well as o-rings and shafts are different.

Yes you can't put the adjustable pistons

For me, alu shocks saved me from building all the time my shocks as previously they were leaking

The adjustable pistons fit the alu shocks with out any problem what so ever, so don't know why you're saying they don't?.

In both sets of alu shocks I have the adjustable pistons.

sorry, when I tried few years back I couldn't fit them, maybe I did something wrong.

I don;t use them anyway.
