XRAY - Model racing cars

Hi Everyone
I might have solved the problem with the shocks will let everyone know after sunday race.

DO XRAY HAVE A FIX
I ALSO HAVE LEAKING SHOCKS ON MY 2010 SPEC 808 HAVE TRIED DIFFERENT REBOUNDS , BLEED SHOCK SEVERAL TIMES BUT EVERYTIME I DRIVE ALL SHOCKS ARE LEAKING FROM ORINGS . DOES XRAY HAVE A FIX YET OR DO I SEARCH ELSEWHERE FOR A SOLUTION? LOVE THE CAR BUT NOT HAPPY ABOUT SHOCKS

Same problem here with my 808 2010 spec and the 808 2009 spec of a friend. This is not good. We all have paid enough to get dry shocks. Even my el cheapo Hotbodies D8 had better shocks.

Come on X-ray, FIX THIS!

Its crazy cuz I ran my xt8 last week and had only my front shocks leak but the rears are perfect. Weird...I do agree xray has to come up with a solution to the leaking problem. As you all said....awesome car...but what in the world is happening with the shocks? I even replaced the o-rings to kyosho ones.

read`few pages back... use kyosho shock orange o-rings.

The Fix is the Kyosho parts mentioned before. Once I changed to those I have had zero problems. As for testing purposes I race at the Nitro Pit on a regular occasion and if they hold up to those conditions they will hold up anywhere. Also with Xray XT8 or 808 shocks as Bren Ralls has stated many times take your time it usually takes some time screwing and unscrewing the cap to get it right.

i see no problem there, but the boots do bug me, they are rubbish.

Right, the '09 boots are rubbish. Had to prick them with a hot pin so they'd stop from blowing up. Change the spring tension and you'll have to pull down the spring or the boot twists. Spent too much money upgrading the shocks. Last week I bought the RC8T shock boots ($10 / 4boots) and they slide onto the '09 Alu groove cap and use the stronger '08 plastic shock ends (cracked to many of the '09s with the small groove)

Back to the drawing board on the XRay Shock boots

Ive tried the rc8t shock boots and they are far from a perfect fit. I dont think many other brands would fit right. Because the stock ones arent long enough I make sure I have shock covers on all my shocks to keep it all clean and they work pretty well. You can get a set for like 8USD on Ebay. Any color you want. Again its not a fix but a good preventative measure to ensure clean shocks in case the boots rip on you.

Ok guys, I've now ran my 808 2010 (bought in January) for 2 races and two full training days. Everything is fine and NO LEAKAGE at all! When building the shocks I soaked the o-rings in shock silicone oil.

I've had 3 Xray buggies and a truggy so far and haven't ever had a leaking oil problem (shocks and difs).
