No luck for me last weekend no podium finish but still managed 4th place with one hour of sleep and a very bad start on the starting grid.

U may wan to check the thread about the rebound settings and oil leak that has some good info.

I used the kyosho bladder sponges to help keep the shocks in check it helped but sill failed for 45 minutes.

I'm rebuilding a spare set of used front shocks (original 808 so weren't run with shock boots) and the shafts have a dull looking finish to them, except at the very top and bottom of the shaft where they're covered.

Is this the point at which it's worth replacing the shafts, or are they usually still OK/capable of being cleaned up? I'm guessing they're not going to be as smooth as brand new shocks with a non-shiny finish, but if they seal OK does it matter that much?

I have spare shafts, so changing isn't a big deal, but if they don't need changing unless they're bent I'll put them back in

quick question on wheel base shims for the front. When we add shims to the front of the xt8 using the ISS suspension set, I noticed the pins are slightly longer and using only 1 shim left a lot of play in the front arms. I added a second shim to fill the gap but in your opinion, is it best to fill that small gap with a shim that still leaves SOME play or is it best to use the shim that fills the whole gap and keeps the arms from moving? I filled the gap so that there is no play in the front arms. Would this cause a breakage more so than if I used a slightly smaller shim to leave some play?

Also on the set up sheets when they show the wheel base settings for the rear of the car...there is 3 options "0" "1" and "2" I believe. Can you explain to me what those setting mean exactly. I understand the concept of lengthening and shortening the wheelbase viz shims in the rear hub pins but what do the numbers indicate on the setup sheets? Do they stand for short/middle/long wheelbase setting?
