Hi guys -sorry, I mistakenly posted this discussion in another thread. I moved it here.
I picked my EU-T3 at the LHS this week - the seal was broken... which meant the 1-piece holder was in the kit
I started the assembly slowly, the next race is on 01-16 so no rush (and not much time with a 1 m.o. baby at home anyway).
Couple of comments:
1- I did notice some carbon splinters on the chassis, where the motor milling is done. Nothing serious performance-wise as it will be filed anyway, but then again less experienced racers will hurt themselves with this. Keep in mind not everyone goes thru the hassle of sanding their chassis' edge... only serious racers do, and there are still quite a few bashers who buy double-deck CWF cars Heck, all CWF cars should have the countersunk holes CA'ed, and given the number of people posting here who seem not to do it ("Damn I need to go buy CA now!!!") this is a bit worrying
2- The part fit quality is unbelievable... the machining of the orange 7075 parts is absolutely stunning. Great job Juraj and the boys
3- it took me forever to get free rear a-arms. I reamed them out at 3.02mm to be sure, then they rotate easily on the hinges when not on the car. However, as soon as mounted on the car (3deg toe, thick shim on rear holder) they bind like heck... that's even without the composite shims to make sure there is not parasitic friction . The only way I can get them ok is by not tightening the 3x14 and 3x16 arm mounts screws as much as I'd like... Do you guys threadlock these screws or am I doing sthing wrong here?
Overall I'm really looking forward to the build. I think people have become extremely finicky with the quality of kits, the slightest defect is always made a fuss of by the internet pundits across the world. What I see here is a kit that still bring everything else to shame in terms of design insight and quality.
Will arrogantly keep you updated about my build
Paul
