XRAY - Model racing cars

soren, if this is true, why would the new price list from rc america show it as replacing th fk and have it listed with a price...... not the kind of thing you would expect if its just some parts they are testing....xray owners and drives are very loyal...as they should be....it just seems that the secret is out....and they could at least be open with the ones that support them...Im not bashing at all....and cant wait to get one.....just my 2 cents.. lol maybe 3 or 4 the way the dollar exchange is in euro

I for one, prefer the saddle-pack design, and since I just invested in a FK, I will stick with the car for a while.

As for trying to gather our opinions, they should have posted - "what do you want to see in the next 1/10 electric sedan". They would have received alot more positive feedback versus frustrating their consumers as they are doing now.

Now, it's speculated that they are planning to launch 2 new 1/10 cars - one like the 415, and the other based on the current T1 chassis .... this may not be true, however, I think that X-Ray owes it to their consumers to keep them posted on what is going on - especially since many have been loyal through an obvious parts shortage due to the new factory being set-up.

More-and-more I read about people switching from X-Ray to another brand on some of the most popular RC boards in North America ... with a background in consumer goods marketing, I see a major problem here, however, I am sure that X-Ray knows what it is doing.

I don`t think you/we should worry about what X-ray may or may not do witha new car
I do think the current FK is going to take some beating, i am well happy with what i`ve got ,
If X-ray bring out that RDX clone then oops they have gone back wards, but you never know that might learn from it
Like if they make a mistake it is not failure , it`s they have found another way of not doing it
I just hope they are not designing it for the usa market & tracks cos if they do it won`t work for the european tracks, ie Jrxs losi good in usa, but crap in europe, track results speak for them selfs

The new car must be an improvement over the old car otherwise Xray would not make it.

The Factory Kit is still selling in shedloads. So it cannot be because the Factory isnt making enough sales.

The new car must be an improvement on the track, if it wasnt then xray would be shooting themselves in the foot by decreasing the Factory Kit sales.
And I very much doubt Xray would do that.

Yes for sure.

Im not an engineer, and neither do I know as much as the RC car designers out there.

But it looks to have an improved Centre of Gravity, with an improved drivetrain as well.

The 415 and the RDX are both good cars. A lot of you think its a copy of either car, but Xray have just taken the Factory Kit, moved the spur, pulley and belts lower and put the motor on one side.

They have also changed the battery positions, but after seeing a few of the old team drivers (one springs to mind immediately who won TORC rounds, an A finalist at BRCA mod meetings and also a top runner at BIWS) go round very quickly with a special chassis that had the batteries all down one side on the normal FK then I can't really see a problem with the batteries down one side. Especially as he seemed to like it more.

The rest of the car looks to be the same as the Factory Kit, but obviously Xray have changed the parts that are needed to do the above.

But somehow I cant see how changing a few parts suddenly makes it a RDX or 415 copy.

After saying all this, the only way we can tell that the car is better, is when we get our hands on one and try it.
