[quote="Ger"]Hi,

I think the problem is the way I understand "above ride height". Do you set the grubscrew until the tires just start to lift or you set it until there is a hairgap in between the surface and the bottom of the tire? The difference is huge...

Thanks a lot Paul and Racerlog.

I do it untill the tires start to want to come up or basicly when the droop screw hitts the chassis.
your right, you dont want to measure exactly when the tire comes off of the table because then we are measuring the insert stiffness how much air gap is in the tire also so thats no good.

Hi Paul,

If it's not too much trouble I was wondering what setup you'd recommend for a track like this. It's a carpet track and of medium to low grip, also, it's not the dimensions as in the drawing, it's more around 25 metres in length and 10-15 wide! (please excuse my horrible drawing ability) -

Also, I find my shock rebound has changed after I get back from racing. When I set them to 25% before a race they will be at 75% after a race - why is this and how can I stop it from happening?

Thanks for this opportunity!

Hey Paul
,Having problem with these plastic shocks that came in the tc3 kit. Ive been running a TC5r the past too years and ive mastered the rebound thing, but i seem to only be able to get 55% min rebound out of these things if and more the air bubbles take over.I also noticed alot of guys run the aluminum shocks. Are they better quality and easier to work with. Please if you can help me out with some info or just tell me the aluminum ones are the way to go with the TC3.
Thank You,
Mike B[/b]

Sorry Paul,
So used to putting TC in front of that associated stuff.Just a habbit im gonna have to break.Im gonna be racing the X-Ray T3.Ive tried the asjustable pistons and swithched to just the 3 hole pistons. I just couldnt get 25% rebound without those horrific air bubbles.I tried every method under the sun.I literly spent 8-9 hours on 4 shocks.Right now there done at about 55% rebound with no air bubbles, but I didn't do them like the book said to.The more I rack my brain about it ? Does the top shock cap have to be really tight or just snug enough not to leak. Are the black o-rings that come in the kit any good they seem to be a little stiff but I pre soaked them anyway.
I hope you can help me.? I see that there's an aftermarket front universal joint. Is the front wheel chatter that bad and what do you prefer to run.Ill be running 13.5 at local tracks and Mod at bigger special events. The first time I saw you run was at the reedy race this year and I was so impressed. You were awsome. Can you send me a good starting setup for Speedworld in Roseville. And ill use it at norcal also. But I usually race on saturday nights in ripon shorter track but I can adjust the Speedworld setup to work at Ripon.Kinda what I did with my tc5r.See that is the last time ill ever type that.I prommise.
Thanks for Any help you can give,
Mike B

Hi Paul,

I am running a T3 on rubber/asphalt in modify. I have a couple questions regarding the set up of the car.

1. Camber Link. The camber link holes on the shock tower, what are the different for those holes? According to the manual: Front / Rear: 1, 2, 3, and 4.

2. Rear Toe-in. I am currenly running 3deg toe-in by shimming in the rear of the A-arm. What is the differenet in handling if I shim less in the A-arm and use a 1deg toe on the rear up-right? (in both case, I acheive 3deg toe in).

3. Wheel Base. Please correct me if I am wrong, with a short wheel base, the car will turn more, if so, in your opinion, should I shorten the front or the rear? What different does it make?

4. Caster Block. I am currently using the 6deg caster block, and I found it is more easy to drive, even if I make a mistake, it is more easy to correct my line. But I just read thur this page, and you recommend the 4deg. Please kindly elaborate.

Last, I like my T3 very much, it is even more easier to drive than the T2 009 and has more steering. I just need to set it up right to compete with the fast guys here.

Paul,

I have been running at Dirla's track and am having some traction rolling problems mid way through the runs late in the day when the traction comes up high. Can you look at my set-up below and make any recommendations? I assume I should definitely go to a higher shore tire...maybe 32 or 36. Would this help out some?

Thanks
Chris ATL
