So with all of this being said, do you guys truly believe there will be a factory 808e coming soon?

I'm glad Xray hasn't rushed into the electric game yet. For the most part it seems that the electric conversions are better than the electric kits.

The Losi E8 2.0 works really well, but the AE Rc8E and Hotbodies D8E are complete garbage!

It would be cool to see an xray kit for the 808 or a complete car. I think Roccos setup would be a perfect example of a good 808 kit. I got to drive an 808 with the same motor mount and battery location and it drove perfect. Felt heavier than my nitro 809, but very nice for an electric. Good balance.

But if your going to make a whole kit it would be nice to see some E specific improvements. Especially to the gears, they sound horrible.

How about an extra thick Plastic spur gear on the center diff and an extra thick pinion. If they were made thick enough they could be durable. A slipperential in the center would be a nice touch as well.

Or if we have to stick to steel gears how about getting rid of the straight cut teeth and going to a hypoid curved tooth face like we see in real car transmissions. Any thing to make these E sound less like a blender filled with rocks.

A foam rx box and a decent place to zip tie a Lipo RX pack would be nice. I use lipo unregulated and cut the red wire on my Esc lead. I don't trust lipo regulators, especially the ones built into esc's. I use HV 7955 servos.

Surprized nobodies come up with quick release body posts and battery trays yet so these things can be run in 30 minute or 1 hr mains.

Don't forget the e specific body.


Darn sharp looking car, can't wait to build my own to go alongside my nitro 808 '09.
