Shim part numbers are:

XR962080 WASHER S 8x14x1.0 (10)
XR962081 WASHER S 8x14x2.0 (10)

I found I needed either 1x 0.1 or 0.2mm shim on the ring gear side, no more, with the standard diffs. Active needs more.

They shouldn't feel overly 'crunchy' when you rotate them - if they do, then probably too tight on shims. If you hold the centre shaft still and can wobble the diff case back and forth, then try an additional shim. It's trial and error - only advice is don't fill the diffs till you're happy you've got it right!

Leon with AD did you max out the small washers between the out drive & diff cup then use extra older style shims between bearing & bulk head?

I run 8X16 at diffs & they seem to be just a hair narrower than the plastic spacer with smaller bearings but run 2 x .1 shims with normal diffs.

ok ordered the shims today aswell as new bearings and pins so i will give it a try guys

If you use big shims with 16mm outer diameter (not sure on inside, I think 14 or 15) shimming is pretty easy without disassembling the diffs. You can just put the shim over the outdrive onto the bearing.

Robin has a very good idea & is how I started mine. I have so many other brand cars that all use big shims that when I went x-ray shimming on the inside was foreign to me & seemed like a step too far pain in the ass but as diffs settled in the shimming stayed the same & I eventually put the thickness of the big shims on the out side to the small shims on the inside. It did feel odd at first but during diff service(wich never includes o-ring replacement now that I have quality o-rings,ie non x-ray) the inside shims is the only way to go. Except AD shimming wich requires both types of shims in my case due to using 8X16 bearings I think.
