Rocco, the boots ARE the limiters for the shorter cap. The shaft doesn't go too high at all if your running the boots and are you saying that we should not run any rebound as this is essentially overfilling the shocks.

Not to worry though the R&D team is on the case and I suppose if it works it's a fix for now.

Get some kyosho orange orings for the MP9. They have been working for me, but are a slightly tighter fit than the mugen or xray ones and make a little more drag. I'd rather have that than leaks though.

Here's the fix for the 09 shocks, if they are leaking. When I say leaking, I mean leaking like enough to drip- oil accumulates in the shock boot and comes out the bottom and the little tiny vent hole up by the top of the boot. A slight film of oil on the shaft is normal to me and of no concern. I have no idea how to fix that and I cant help you. Nor can I speak to the 08 shocks. This is what I have done :

no shock slime stuff, just shock oil to lube the orings.

2 spare xray orings on the external part of the shaft to act as bottoming bumpers between the seal cap and the spring retainer, inside the shock boot. This also seems to help the boots to last longer.

Make sure the bladders dont collapse when you bleed the shocks.

Rebound 25% or less. The more rebound, the higher the pressure in the shock pushing on the seals on big hits. It stands to reason that this will aggrevate any leaks.

That's what I have done, and I dont even think about leaks anymore. It's a pretty easy fix really, and you will wonder why you didn't do it sooner and just move on to other things.
