I've only had a very minimal, I would even say in my experience, normal amount of seepage with my 808 shocks. I'm going to try GS Racing orings as I never ever had a problem with any GS shocks in 4 years.
Absolutely love my 808 cause since I've owned it, my results have improved out of sight.
Just want an 808 Truggy now. :P nudge nudge :wink: :wink:

I give up on my truggy and buggy, both sets of shocks leak pluss the diffs leak on the truggy. Kinda annoying considering what these vehicles cost.

If you put a couple O-rings on the shock shafts to limit the amount they can compress, or one of those Traxxas tall orings they won't leak anymore.

Overfilling them and not bleeding them properly will also make any shock leak.

I'm 99% sure that its the shorter bottom cap of the shock that is causing the leaking in some cases. If the shock compresses 4mm more than it used to it only seems logical.

Like I said, I just slid two o-rings on each shock shaft to limit the up travel when I built Josh's '09 spec vehicles and we haven't any issues thus far.

I've also been having problems with leaking shocks. I've tried the mugen rings and it helped a little but still leaked. I think the problem is either the shafts are too small for good contact with the o-ring or not enough crush from the spacers. I'm trying a thicker spacer next to see if that will help. If not maybe Losi shocks will fit? :roll:

I'm telling you guys, the bottom cap that accommodates the shock boots allows for 4mm of additional travel that wasn't there with the old 'bootless' caps. Just slide some sort of 3-4mm spacer on the shafts to prevent the shocks from compressing too far, and problem solved. No extra squishing of oring, etc. It is seriously this simple.

Just wondering why my 808 shocks didn't start leaking then when I switched to the new lower caps and boots. And the xt8 shocks stopped leaking when I switched orings.

I'm sure the extra travel isn't helping... But personally I'm not convinced it's the whole problem. Not trying to be a jerk... Just not convinced by that explanation.
