Hello

This is my last caal for this problem. I have been using 4 evenings at track to find out some help for my problem. I don't have previous experience of RC touring cars so this is a challenge for me.

We are driving Vintage-class with new "out of box" T2R. Our rules are basically 17,5T sensored motor, HPI vintage 26/31mm tires & wheels, HPI vintage body and 8mm ground clearance.

I have a problem with loose rear end. I have built the car out of box, set up 8-9mm clearance and made few other mods like turnbuckles and front antirollbar from T2 007.

I have tried now lots of different setups, . I have made almost everything to make car understeer but it only oversteers. Only difference I have found is that oversteering is smoother and some how "driveable". Today I tried Tamiya red spiring (11,xxlb) in the rear with 25W oil and silver front spring with 40W oil. No big improvements, just made the oversteering again smoother. Without throttle car is running like with 10-20% motor brake on and spinning by it self after middle corner. When I use throttle in the middle or in the end of corner car suddenly oversteers and spins immediately. I use only 30-40% of steering trim (setting range 20-150%).

I would like to have rather slightly understeering car than this way. Now it's too hard to drive smoothly enough to make decent laps. I have listened lots of advices how I should have lowest possible downstop values and now the shocks are the limiting in the rear. Today I used T2007 shocks with Tamiya spirings and I felt like those were longer?

Well anyway I would appreciate any help with this setup. I feel like I have used all the cards in my hand and don't know what to do.

Tomi

Why do you have 9 mm ground clearance ? Strt again in base settings but then with 5.5 mm Ground Clearance. 3 degree toe in at the rear. Use droop settings around 5.5 front and 4.8 at the rear to start with.
You shouldn't be to far off. Try at first to run the car level ( same front and rear height, camber aout 1.5 degree's each wheel.

Hope this helps

Frans
ps check before you hit the track if the car isn't tweaked.

I would go back back to the stock T2R Pro rubber tires setup as a start. If it doesn't drive better at that point this is what I would try changing; reduce the rear droop by 1mm and increase the front droop by 1mm. Run the rear ride height at 8mm and the front at 9mm. Run the rear diff as loose as possible without it slipping excessively. Check your drag brake settings on your ESC as well. You could reduce the drag brake setting. Check your driving style as well. Don't trail brake into corners and roll onto the throttle smoother. If you can get a bigger wing on the body that would help too.

The T2 is a well balanced car normally. It is possible that in your quest to reduce over steer you have changed so many things that the car's balance has been completely thrown off.

To prevent oversteer... good tires are a start... but if i run well used tires outdoor i run 40 shock oil all round stiff springs front(white xray) and soft springs rear(green xray) rebound is 100%, droop is 3mm rear and 4mm front. Ride height is front 6mm rear 6.5mm flex is soft and front arms are .75/.00 rear arms are .00/.00. -1 deg front camber and -2 deg rear camber and -.5 toe in

To me its looks like the car is dipping in the corners cause's the rear wheels to lift, plus do you use a wheels transmitter or sticks... maybe your putting to much lock on in and out of the corners plus do you brake or ease the speed off in the corner or do you let off and turn. If you use the first and third one then your transfer weight from the rear to the front causing the car to nose dive
So if you've got to run with 8mm ride height(why....?) then you will have to run 2 hole shocks heavy oil (maybe 60) and stiff springs (22lbs plus) basically you need to stop the car dipping and control the throttle..

Im no expert but i use to suffer from the same thing when using a T2 '006' and i had to change driving style and car settings

Plus can you use additive and tire warmers... Cold tires will always have low grip until you get heat into them.. Additve will also help with the first couple of corners after that its more or else worn off..
