XRAY - Model racing cars

Hey Paul, it's Dorian. Do you know of a setup you would recommend for the Xray Challenge that's coming up in Jackson, NJ? Something good to start with so I can feel the car out and pick your brain from there.

Hi Dorian, you are talking about a nitro set up Right?

for nitro i would start with the 301 set up that i gave you, definately bring some soft front tires just in case if the grip is low, 35s, 32 fronts and 38, 40 rears. from their it should be pretty easy. we may end up with different shock locations, sway bar settings, and camber but that stuff is easy to change if needed.

Speaking of the Xray Challenge .... I heard you might be at the one in Memphis, TN. Only running electric tho, what gives? .... One good thing about it, I'll only be in the way in electric .... .... not sure if you've ever been there but if you haven't .... bring loooottttts of water .... I've been going for awhile and have never figured out why they call it Beat the Heat and have it in July ....

Did you run the 38T pulleys at the REEDY race? I noticed your setup sheet says 34T but from the pictures they look bigger (specially up front).

Hi Paul,

I was wondering if your using 48 or 64 pitch gears when running outside? I stripped two 116 spur's running at 301 with a 4.5 motor. Not sure if because of applying the brakes or because 64 pitch is so fine. The gear mess was good. I was running a 8.57 FDR and the motor temps were around 170.

Any thoughts?
