He peeps,

What is the best way to get straight tire wear because i'm getting excessive coning to the inward rear tires. The front tires are wearing flat on the left side but conical to the inside on the right side.

Camber is set to 2,5 at the rear and 2,0 at the front. I don't know if more toe in at the back increases conical tire wear, but i have set to 3,0 and toe out at 1,0. Droop is set at 1 at the front and 4 at the back.

I have changed the front diff to the lightweight one way. I'm really getting struggles to get enough steering as my car is tending to get a lot of oversteer. Setting of rebound is 25% and shocks are further stock spec '08. I have mounted 26 side pulley but am considering placing 25 back.

Can someone give me some advice?

Thanks in advance!

hello,

oversteer on or offthrottle?? comin into a corner, mid corner or when exitin?? also why the one-way?? whats your track like? high grip/low grip ...etc?? and about the tire wear, well, you need a bit of coning at the back, and flat wear at the front. play with the camber, you dont need to have the same camber angle on left and right side, you can go 2 front left and 1.5 front right.

cheers

ALi

Hi Mate's,

Ran it just today because of my birthday the 20st of may. I have made 5 practise rounds and felt pretty confident about the set up. I've set the shocks more inclined both front and rear, the camber is set properly i have the tire wear almost perfect. only the right side is a bit conical outward and needs to be inward but is pretty much straight wore off. The mid side pulley i have changed to 25 and set the gearbox just right. Nice day on the Rucphen track with a sunny 25 degrees, i hope i will find my luck next weekend with the upcoming clubrace!

Greets to you all, Ralph

I've uploaded the setup i used during the nationals. Car was really good, drove a 15.0 in the main final.

I almost drove a stock car because of the rain earlier.

@ Dubber.

i've taken a look at your setup and i think i know why you are getting the wrong wear on your rear tires.

You have a really soft rear end (stock springs and 2.0 ARB). Because of this the rear rolls a lot when there is enough grip. Since the grip at rucphen is pretty good and there are a lot of high speed corners the rear rolls too much.
So much that your camber's will go from negative to positive when negotiating a corner.
So stiffen up the rear with a 2.4 ARB and some purple springs and i think you problem will completely disappear. You simply have too much roll in the rear end because you are even using the short rear camber link, and i didn't need that to get perfect wear of the rear tires.

@ Cyclops

After i modded my car in the winter, the car became very slow on turn in into the kantine bocht at the mach track. Normally i wasn't able to run the higher rear rollcenter because the car would start to snap oversteer on turn in. Now with the modifications i tried the higher setting and the car started to react extremely good on even the slightest steering input.

This week i will try raising the rollcenter even more with adding shims on the upright side, because the car still has a slight push going into a corner.
And i will try the highest setting combined with a solid axle on the front.
I have good hopes that this will work great on the Gouda track.
