Hi guys,

Which body are you using with the XB808. There's quite many available now. I don't care too much about the looks. More about the performance of the body, meaning the weight of it and how it fits and lasts.

Maybe someone has weighed different bodies? I'd guess 5-10 gram differences can be seen between them?

I think I'll be running the low profile Proline airfilter so it won't be an issue.

The same question about wings. Those High Downforce ones seem to weigh more. I checked Worlds finals pictures and most drivers were using the regular ones. I guess the "high downforce" doesn't give so high downforce after all, only weighs more.

Which wing is the lightest and lasts well?

Don't tell me I'm going nuts over the weight but its easy to save 10-20g this way and doesn't cost a $ more ;)

I am running the standard wing as well mainly because of the weight. Most downforce wings are 10 grams heavier, and it's at the highest point of the car.

I didn't try anything else than the stock body, which fits perfectly and lasts a long time. I guess the 09 spec lower body will be just a tad lighter since it's lower.
A thinner body would be nice but wouldn't last as long.

I checked through many of the set-up sheets and didn't find any team drivers using anything other than stock body :roll: But maybe someone has Proline or JC bodies and has time to weigh them.

Anyway I'm considering to order different bodies and wings to see which I like the most. One of those ideas I come up with during cold dark winter nights 8)

The "sad" thing about wings is that I still consider the weird-looking Losi wing of the best because it has big vertical "fins" that make it really tough. Haven't had any other type of wing last so well...

You would have to weigh them before painting. A simple single color will weigh less than a multi layer elaborate paintjob. Raw unpainted bodies would be best.

Thin paint like Faskolor translucent is used for 'race' bodies.

Wing wise... I don't like hd wings,,,adds too much drag, I run the stock wing way down low to gain max speed on the straight, flies OK too :)

I cannot see adifference in the cornering/bends so keep it this way, all the other drivers at my track swear by hd wings for maximum traction etc - I like to slide the rear end out, hehe

I have recently bought a Crowd Pleazer 2 for my 808...pics will be up when it's done for the summer races......

i use the stock body it is as strong as the proline body imo and looks the best out of all the bodies available. i also use the stock wing works perfect and is cheap i havent even tried anything different they all look ugly lol
