XRAY - Model racing cars

Not to be a jerk, but you're saying it should be ok to run any motor of your choice with any battery of your choice?

ROAR (only governs US): Motor must be a certain length with a bolt pattern of X" and battery must be hard cased with a 4S limit within certain dimensions.

RC Pro (governs US [territories] and Australia and a the smaller number of guys that participate): No motor rules and up to 6S allowed, no hard case. So pretty much rules that say there are no rules.

Design a production kit off of that??

This is why Amian is not stocking Xb808 any more..

Are there any 808 electric conversion kits out there that preserve the mechanical brake?

I don't know about a whole kit, but this RC Monster package looks like you can keep the original breaks, you just have to find a way to get the servo, linkage, etc. in there...

I saw a picture of I believe,an E808 that someone used a odd shaped/looking airplane servo mounted right on the top of the center diff. Anyone recall seing that & where it was? I wanna invetigate that further.
