Will the part number on the buggy stay the same? Just the running changes added in?

I really really love the new 808 body! The styling is excellent! The paint job is brilliant as well. I think I will copy the paint scheme, but with flourescent green in place of the pink. The new XT8 does look very nice as well, although I am surprised the front arms haven't been made a bit thicker to deal with the increased stress they will be seeing. Not that the arms on XT8 are particularly weak or anything. I do actually think that in some ways it is good that the XT8 is sticking with the old chassis as a base as it does seem a tad more robust than the 808 chassis with it having larger bearings and a bit more meat on most of the parts.

Are you guys waiting for the last day of the fair to announce an 808 electric?

I think RC Pro Series rules will be the standard. 4-6s lipos. 3x 10 minute A mains. Soft or Hard case lipos. Keep it simple.

ROAR has some rules out but they aren't really keeping with the developments of the class. ROAR is forcing 4s lipos and using 2x 1/10 hardcase packs. Those of us who actually race 1/8 electric haven't been too happy about ROARs rules.

Hopefully X-ray doesn't over think the development of an electric 808 and miss the train. The standard 808 is already a great platform and converts really easy. Weight balance is perfect left to right. All I would change for an electric 808 is have a chassis with the unused holes plugged. Maybe the engineers could come up with a high quality battery box with that great plastic you use on the cars and integrated lock nuts. Biggest issue with the current battery boxes is the plastic gets stripped out on them pretty easily.
