I use a 1.5mm shim on the top mounting of the front shock to make it perfectly vertical... to gain more traction.
Yes I use 1.1mm holes it makes a little bit different damping characteristics, since the damping becomes slightly softer you will gain overall traction but have less corner speed. However for example 400 cst oil with 3x1.1mm will feel similar to 350 cst with 3x1.0mm. So I am able to use slightly harder oil but with the same feeling. Because a change in oil and a change in piston hole size is two different things and the optimal choice at the moment for carpet seems to be 350 cst with 3x1.1. For more rotation use the 1.0 piston.
