T2 008 ECS Drive Shaft

Guys a couple of people I have raced with run the ECS shafts on their 008's. They seem to break the plastic outdrives on the spool a lot since fitting them.

I think if you're getting these it's worth considering the alloy outdrives for the spool. Don't know if anyone else has has this problem :?:

I have the same problem. I haven't broken any of them with the old driveshafts. I don't know the reason why the outdrives break now.
Maybe its better with the 52mm shafts...

I have been testing the ECS driveshafts for an absolute age (first with 007) and have not noticed any difference in relation to breaking outdrives compared to the std driveshafts.

Did you try the 50mm ECS driveshafts after using the 52mm std ones? If so it could be that you wore the groove inside for the 52mm pin and then when you have the 50mm pin it adds another stress point inside the outdrives which could weaken it a little?

I'm trying to fit the new (305327) 52mm ecs drive shafts in my t2' 007 eu edition but they are too long. Xray recommend the 52mm shaft for the eu version?

remove the plastic rings between the outdrive and spoolhousing so the spool will be smaller as the plastic rings extended the width.

I did some testing now, and have no more Problems now with the outdrives when using the ECS-driveshafts. My Problem was because i used additional shims on the inside of the suspension to make the car wider, and so the driveshafts were very near to the end of the outdrives.

When using the on T2R PRO, T2'008, T2'009 EU or US edition cars, only 50mm driveshafts must be used.
