XRAY - Model racing cars

the carbons for me are fantastic amazing stopping power in any condition. they wear really well also. i find them more aggressive however they never fade so you know what your getting during a race when you jam on the brakes.

+1 on Tricksys comment.

The XRAY carbon fibre discs are superb. They are VERY hard wearing, never fade under any conditions and give very consistent braking power - they are very tunable and rarely lock up, even when you dial them in to be very aggressive. I'd recommend running the XRAY hardened steel pads with them.

Can someone please measure the thickness of XRAY's carbon brake disk with a some calipers.(Thousandth or MM is fine) I'm curious to see what disk is thicker, Avids or XRAY's Carbon??

The Xray discs are thicker, they should be 4mm.

Thanks for the info. The Avids are 2.5mm new.

When my brake springs (Aftermarket part) are full compressed, they are around .30mm less then the total thickness of the Avids disk. So when the Avids wear a little more, there will be a time the harden pads can't compress enough to grab the disk. I love the feel of this style of breaking design, but was looking for a thicker disk to allow more room for adjustment and wear..

I'll be ordering the XRAY's this week...

I tried the Carbon Xrays and went straight back to Avids. I gave them to another racer and he did the same thing....

And the reason?

I think that the AVIDS should be better,they seems more abrasive,they're thinner of course,but they can stop harder and faster than carbon fiber discs!
