Ok its obviously the new car, next question is, what parts are backwards compatable?

Suspension looks the same.
The diffs look the same.
front and rear shock mounts look same.
Front bulkheads could be the same.?
I cant see for sure but it looks as if it would be compatible with long arms as well.


Things that would not be compatible.
Top deck and chassis, centre drive shaft, rear bulkheads and probably the belts.

It is a radical change but upgrade should be possible. If Xray miss the trick and dont release a conversion pack, there could be a lot of unhappy recent FK owners. When news of this gets around, people will stop buying the FK and wait for the new kit. If there was a conversion kit promised, then poeple would probly still buy the FK and run that till the conversion pack became widely available in six? months time.

You could take a two year old racer kit and bolt on the conversion kit, perfect way to upgrade, how many happy drivers would that give you.
