XRAY - Model racing cars

another race and still no problem with the car or bearings.

ive got around 6 gallons on mine now..original bearings still

Bend front center drive shaft.
Probably caused by chassis flex...the bearings seem fine though so in this case the shaft took the hit instead.
Why did Xray made them so long...1mm shorter would have worked fine since it's not a loose dogbone.
The solution with the alloy braces is not an option in the case someone wants them off for setup reasons...and this is the case for most of the pro drivers recently.
Can anyone post any pictures with the fixed shaft end and the fixed diff cups.

Hi there guys,well i've got to be truth here,i love the 808,i like xray quality,but the bearing problem really exists and it's a huge pain in the head,i've tried to use avid bearings,and still had bearing problems,than used the idea of putting tape on the bearings ( Steve Walters example ) and still had bearing problems,now i'm gonna try the DaveG alternative and see if it holds,if so,this car is great and only has this problem,if it's solved it's for me the best car in the market but if not,is really bad,because it can make the difference between a a-main victory or not,because bearing failures keep going!

That's my opinion,nothing more!

i was just thinking about the center shafts bottoming out in the cup. would shims under the center dif raising it up a touch solve that? the shafts are going up hill to the diff so raising the diff would pull the shaft out of it.

Please check out my post here viewtopic.php?t=8272 if you haven't already, as this is proof beyond a doubt that jumps play no part at all in the bearing failures. That said, I agree that jumps add to the underlying problem, but do not cause the problem in my opinion and research.
