Since there isnt anything that will stop the dirt from spraying on the shock i would like to know if those spiffy looking mud guards are going to be released. So... when?

And ive seen those shock ...socks..... that have been used on a couple of cars but i cant find a retailer for them.

As far as I know most people make their own mud guards. I plan on making a set for my XT8 in the near future. And about the socks, I've heard that they trap more dirt doing more harm than good, but I haven't used them.

I have the Shock socks and they do work very well. I have done a test with the socks on and without them on and the shock get much more less dirt on them with the socks on. I use outerwear one and the reason why is because I like the prints design thats the only reason I use them.. Give them a try and see for yourself.

I made my own out of spare lexan pieces from buggy bodies. Used them last night for the first time, work great!

I need mud guards too! I figure the only way it will stop raining at the races this summer is if I am prepared for it!

I guess it has to be 2.5mm for typical 3mm screw.

I have made those mud guards out of old wings (2 pcs weigh about 13g). For truggy it is very good and lasts a lifetime. For buggies the lexan guard is better, lasts long enough and weighs a lot less.

The rear arms have pre-molded holes the front of them. I just used a existing hole and the outer hinge pin hole to hold it in place. No drilling required. I used a 3mm screw in the one hole. There is also 4 holes on the bottom of the arm(s) to mount the stock mud guards. I've made a separate set of bottom mud guards for when/if I race in muddy conditions. So far they have worked great.... 8)

Nice I just try it on my XT8 and the mud guards I got fit right using the whole that are there and there is no need to make new ones.

Thanks Steve
