Nitro is ?25 - ?28 per gallon and petrol is about ?1.13 per litre.
Just recently our fat leader went to the Saudi to demand cheaper oil :shock: HA! They should have reminded him of the criminal levels of tax he puts on it then cut his fat head off :twisted:

why does this forum enter debug mode when you try to use certain words? it wont let me reply properly :x

think it was having trouble going to page 2 then put all my attempts up at once! needs fixing ... something about line 251 and inserting a list of words i used

Our OPEN class runs 3x10minute finals with at least 1 hour in between to charge etc. And basically every electric car can enter and run. For 1:8 electric buggies 2x20min or even 3x20min would be nice. But then again when you have longer runs 25+ min and the battery dimensions/capacity are limiten you have to consider running more efficiently and conserve power! 15-min runs with 1:8 can be with CRAZY POWER that you never really need.

only thing missing from electric that xray could do is design 5 second battery swaps and water cooling . run time is a factor of battery size but with a battery design that just plugs in and out ( like a dewalt drill or whatever) there is no limit to run time.
i have a nitro xb8 ... a brushless 808 and xt8 and i havnt run the nitro xb8 in weeks.

fri night we are running 6 minute mains and i am under 7 pounds with the 808. nothing broken.....not dirty....i check my motor and pinion screws and recharge the battery which can run for 2 heats if i forget to charge it.

jhutz? what set ups are on your 808 and xt8?
i have a neu 1512 1y with 20 tooth pinion(4s) in the 808 and a neu 1515 2df in the truggy with 13 pinion on 5s

Yes, they guy who come up with the simple, fast swap battery tray will make alot of money with it. That is the only thing really holding the class back from unlimited runtime.

auto, the 808 is runing 1512/3d, 16T pinion on 5s 4350mah for 5 min heats and 5s 5000 for 15 minute main. The xt8 is running 1515/2.5d, 15T pinion on 5s 5000mah for 5 min heats and 5s 6000mah for 15 munite main. Can easily run 2 heats without recharge and 20 minute main on either one.

With all due respect, you guys can't say "been there done that" if you haven't owned and driven a brushless 1/8 scale. It's just not the same as any other electric vehicle. I've had everything from electric minis to nitro 1/8 scale truggies and nothing compares to a brushless 1/8.

And I still haven't heard anyone address the real issue here - performance. I thought everyone raced to win.

yes race to win. but what does winning do to you? causes extreme excitment. nitro causes excitment all by itself. sort of like nitro is nextel cup and electric is formula one . lol

Well I think it's just one of those things where people have to agree to disagree. However, I would agree with your analogy on Nitro=Nascar and Brushless=Formula1. I guess that would explain why I like Formula1 :D
