yea what is upgrade 1 as i have just put my t2 008 eu 6 cell together
the only optinal part was the 34/20/34 wheels so ive put them on !!

Upgrade 1 comprises 3 components.
1. Replacing the drive shaft and axle stub locating pins with new ones with square edges not round edges
2. Thicker mounts for the rear sway bar to move it away from the rear belt
3. And the relevant one, re-machined composite bulkhead hubs on the end of the layshaft. The bottom of these hubs are thinner than the originals, which allows the layshaft to sit lower in the bulkhead which moves the front belt away (ie lower) from the pinion shaft.

The only way to really know if you have it is to compare with somebody else’s who knows they have upgrade 1 - or maybe someone from Xray can post the serial number of the first car to have upgrade 1 packed with the kit?

You cannot go by when you bought the car.

I have 2 008s. The first was from the first batch to arrive in the UK(early December I think), before the upgrade pack 1 was issued. The second I bought in March or April. This did not have upgrade pack 1 or 2 so I registered with the distributor as per the UK process. I promptly received pack 2 but not pack 1. I phoned and they said pack 1 was now in the kits. I explained this was my 2nd 008 and I knew what I was talking about and it wasn’t. No problem pack 1 followed on. My assumption is that bizarrely my 2nd kit must have been sitting around in the distribution channel for some time so that in relative terms was an “old” kit.

Mind you I would guess that if your kit has the optional 34/20/34 gearing included (upgrade pack 2) it is almost (100%?)certain that you have upgrade 1.

On the basis of what Mirage told me and sent me, if you do not have upgrade 2 pack included, that does NOT mean that you do not have upgrade pack 1 in the kit, but you might not.

For clarity. I assume as upgrade pack 1 is not optional you will not find it in a separate bag like the gearing, it will have replaced the parts in the standard bags.

I did have the upgrade 1 and 2 in my kit so I am good. I just need to figure out why i am rubbing and or if it matters. It bareley rubes but I am paranoid.

I bought last week totally new 5 cell T2 008 with alu diff and 34/20/34. So I think the upgrade 1 must be in this box. So if it is, i still could not drive upper position of the front diff, because the belt is in connection with servo saver.

Suggestion. Go to the stickies. Look for Tonyv (Xray driver - ex) and go through his posts. There is one on the subject of the belt rubbing agaisnt the servo saver. I can't remember the details but I think it was between November 2007 and Feb/March 2008

On my second race with T2 008 I used higher possition of diffs (front and rear) and use the higher position of pulleys, so it should be more near to the servo saver and the damage could be bigger, or risk to damage the front belt is so bigger. But after 13 runs I noticed that the belt is in perfect shape and the T2 008 was on FIRST PLACE! :D I will so always drive the diffs position on high position!!

I am using combination of 34/17/34

First race 3rd place in race with medium competition
Second race 1st place with high competition

I bought XRAy from someone and I'm not sure if he setuped car correctly. I'm running 34/20/34 and I have damage on front belt. I have changed position for front axle to lower position. When I check the whole way the belt is pretty close to saver only.
Here you can see some picture . All upgrades have been applied. Is saver setup alright or where is the problem? I don't want to try damage other belt before I'm sure that it is alright.
