im going all the way thru from one end,10mm at a time.

you are essentially boring a hexagon hole rather than a round hole..but your not making the hole bigger so there is slop,the hingepins touch 6 flat surfaces,but now if dirt gets in you will at least be able to run longer before they bind up,its not a substitute for cleaning but hopefully should make the car more consistent when conditions can cause the binding.

the black is the wishbone,the green is the hingepin.

as you can see the pin still touches the side but now any dirt can have its own little home to live until you clean it :)

i have some reamers too but then you get a sloppy fitting arm dont you?..hopefully this way shouild give the best of both worlds..time will tell wether im an idiot or not hehe :lol:

besides the arms dont bind when clean,only when dirty...reamers dont help half way thru a mud race im afraid.

i too would like to know what effect removing the inner plastic part has on the arm..less binding..more flex etc?

It's true they do bind a lot less if you cut the bridge out but i only did this on the E.C. These arms have been optimized for the right amount of flex by the looks of the cutting out and shaving.

I'll try that one dave on one of my arms and compare to the other front which i did last night with my own idea. I dont have pics yet but i've bored out the ends 2mm deep with a flat seat big enough to fit a 4mm o-ring or bit of fuel tube. Sealed in the o-ring with green slime and put the arm back together complete with 2mm shims as normal.
Its more or less the same idea as the shocks, hopefully it will keep dirt and moisture out completely. There's no binding from the o-ring (or fuel tube) will let you know how it holds up.

Did them all, took the shocks of and disengaged the anti-roll bar and each arm still super free and no squeaking. The acid test would be a wet race, shouldn't be too long then :lol: It was nice to have the same ride height all day for once.
