2 whole grams. What a joke. Why are they graphite then?

I'm starting to think we have been set up - to buy optional parts that should have been part of the kit.

I saw on Stormer hobbies listed 808 universals. The 808 got stripped bear and now I'll be paying near on the same as the kit for all the upgrades just to achieve the inequivalent of the EC specs.

Day by day I'm more perplexed by this situation of lack of Pro kit options, especially when it got sold as benefit to be graphite and composite parts.

Hopefully, all the new kits coming out later this will place enormous pressure on Xray to once again provide better value to the customers for their future models. :?

Graphite is more expensive than aluminum. If they wanted to include cheaper stuff then they would have included the aluminum in the box. I'm not sure why you think the aluminum would somehow make it more of a "pro" kit when it serves the same function but weighs more and is cheaper than the graphite.

As for the composite material, it gives more flex for more traction plus it is significantly lighter than aluminum. If they included aluminum instead of composite I would think they went for durability rather than the fastest and best handling pro kit they could offer.

So to sum it up if you bought the current kit, you have the "pro" version. Adding the heavier and less flexible aluminum anywhere just adds to the durability and bling at the sacrifice of weight and handling in most cases.

Keep the opinions coming because I am still up in the air between going this 808 kit or becoming a trader to the K brand.

I have a small feeling there was a bit of hype built into this kit so I am depending on you guys who have it to give honest opinions.

I'm an onroad driver for the past three years, indoor electric offroad just this past season and no 1/8 offroad experience. So I would say my offroad experience is very limited.

This buggy is awesome.....
If you need a deciding hand go to your track and see if one of your friends will let you drive it for a tank, 10 minutes will be all it takes for you to make up your mind. I put the stock setup on mine except 450cst shock oil in the rear and my car is great!

Everyone thinks there is a conspiracy about XRAY products, a few grams here a few grams there is what it takes to make this a super light buggy. What other manufacturer/ head of design goes out to the track with some of his top drivers to test with multiple prototype parts to see what is the best fit for the vehicle. Not just this buggy but in many other previous design cars. Hudy/XRAY want the very best buggy for the consumer out of the gate, which is what they have provided.

The option parts are there for the people that WANT all of the aluminum(BLING) parts on their cars. Aluminum is adding weight(slowing you down). A friend of mine (Onroad factory driver) said that at the events where Jurah is at if there are any failed XRAY parts he wants that part. So he can see why and how it failed, what other manufacturer would do such a thing! XRAY is the only way in my book.

I hate to put it like this but if you don't have one you should not get one if I'll be driving against you, because I feel that evey other buggy is inferior. Everybody that I knew at the 1st midwest RC pro race(TQ'd int. buggy, mains rained out) (2nd time I drove my car) that saw my buggy run knows what little offroad experience I have and said my buggy looked great and included that they are now in a dlilema to drop what they have and purchase one.

whitney if you drive a 808 you will not believe what a different car it is compared tot the ec mutch faster and better to drive
