this is my thought on switches. You are just adding something else that can fail if you do run one. I like running the deans connectors as it would take a HUGE impact to get them to come apart.

I run this switch or similar in all my cars, never had any of the "problems" people say they have. The JR connectors will not jog loose in a collision, flip, etc. Also, I don't like constantly pulling on the connectors, rushing to put them back together, or having the opportunity to forget to disconnect them during a race. Some people say it's a point of failure, I'm forgetful so not having one for me is a point of failure.

I also use the JR switch listed above without issue in my XT8 and EC (808 this weekend!). If you do use a switch, use a silicone switch cover to help keep the dirt out of the switch mechanism. I use the OFNA one:

It helps to use a silver Sharpie to write On and Off next to the switch on the radio box so you (or a marshall) know which way the switch operates. No issues in two+ seasons, and I use the charging jack in between every heat to top off my LiPo Rx pack.

Same here on the JR switch, it's a good little unit.

And I gold sharpie "ON" , on the appropriate side of the switch.

One of the kids at the track asked me why there was only a "ON" marking. I asked them "what is the other option?". He looked at the truggy, then back at me, then back at the truggy,,,,,,, he exclaimed "OFF".

I asked him if his dad was corner marshalling for him, because that little thought process took waaay to long

I've been using the same "JR Small Receiver Switch with Charging Connector" for a couple years now and have never had it fail on me. I still have a spare in its package in my hauler bag. I've raced in some horrible (wet) conditions before and had some horrific crashes like everyone else, and had zero issues with it. Doesn't even enter my mind. This swith has at least 50+ gallons on it.

Sure is nice having the charging connector.....

I have been running the Xray switch ever snce they came out and have had good luck. I just add a charge lead to my pack for charging.
