A word of warning. I was playing around with my Ackermann setting whilst building the 008. I did a final check on the steering and found that the alignment was out, having set it precisely and adjusted the transmitter or the inner wheel angle I wanted - even though I had set the Ackermann back to where it had been. So I started adjusting and got myself in a right mess.
Then I spotted that the quick-saver pull out “tab” was not 100% aligned with the main body of the quik-saver, it was pointing very very very slightly to the right, hence my readings being out, quite significantly. Playing around with the QS I found that it was very easy to make this “mistake” as you tightened the screw. I found on the first 008 that unless you hold the QS real tight as you tighten the screw, the adjustment can move but I have not come across this one before. It maybe that this specific QS has just a smidgen of lateral play between the tab and the main body. But if you are making a quick change at the track, keep an eye out for it- it was so slight I just didn’t see it.
