I have an issue with the pinion shaft is hitting the belt, and after a month of running the car the front belt is shot while the back looks new. What I have done so far was to grind down the set screw in the pinion so it will be flush. Unfortunately the belt still hit the shaft. What else can I do?? 008 us edition foam tires

Hi,

Need help figuring out when one would choose to use a thin insert and have a large air gap in the tire over a thicker insert which would fill up the tire.

0008 Ackermann

The T2 Setup manual advises "It is recommended to use more Ackermann effect in low-to-medium grip conditions and less Ackermann effect in medium-to-high grip conditions."

Looking at the published basic setup sheets for EU rubber tyres carpet and asphalt; my interpretation is that the asphalt setup has less Ackermann dialed in than the carpet setup. Never driven on carpet but I thought it was the general rule that carpet had higher grip than asphalt; if that is the case then there seems to be a contradiction here, or I win dumbo of the week award.

I have just completed the build of my 2nd EU Rubber 6 cell 008 and fired it up on the bench.This time I have built it to the 1.7 IR. Compared with the 2.375 car the rear belt looks awfully loose.
Is this the norm?
Both ratios have 54 teeth for the rear belt so I cannot get my head around this one :?
I vaguely recall a driver posting saying that the rear belt was particulalry tight onthe 2.375? I have the tabs on the nylon hubs positioned as per the manual, pointing due south.

Rear belt is the same on both cars - kit 305444
