XRAY - Model racing cars

Which parts should I stock up on for racing the XT8? Apart from diff oils, tires,etc. I'm looking for a list of items that are more susceptible to breaking and ending my day than for changing my setup. Thanks

I would say none. I have race my XT8 hard and have not broken anything yet.. The XT8 is like bulletproof.. The worse I have broken are the body that came with the kite but now I have the JC body and it take nice hit but now I learn to drive better so breaking bodies will not be an issue any more for me..

I would keep:

front arms uper and lower
rear arms

Ring and pinion gears (the bigger trucks take alot of abuse so to keep these handy)

Spur Gear

Body posts

Front and rear hubs

Front and rear shock shafts

Front knuckles


Other than that the Hulk is right these trucks are tough and can take alot of abuse.

After running mine for well over a year I have only replaced one rear pinion and a chasis (becuase I put alot of run time on mine). All my plastics are still the same even some of the pre-production plastics before the production moulds were made.

I noticed that when you place foam underneath the bottom of the tank, it soaks up spilled fuel, and attracts the dirt which makes it cake up on the chassis. Just give the screws that hold the tank a lot of play so it will not crack during a bad jump.

I glued fuel tubing to the bottom of the tank, instead of using foam. Works great. If you are getting a spare tank, don't forget the rubber grommets for the screw holes in the tank, since the tanks don't come with them. They tend to rip when you try to take them out. I even tried lubing them with WD-40...
