Limited slip diffs?

It's the only thing I can think of, but I'm pretty sure they are illegal with todays rules for touring cars...

Besides, I really like the diffs we use today (of course they could be lighter) :D

I can't se a new car all togehter coming, but a revision/evolution to the diffs/bulkheads maybe?

Smaller diameter diffs on there way I think with the two position hubs to allow backward compatibility with the old diffs. Smaller diffs have lower inertia then the existing diffs. You need a much larger spur gear to get the same ratio but your drivetrain rotates slower for a given speed than the old system. As friction increases proportionaly with speed, if you can slow down the transmition you can reduce the friction.

Hypotheticaly.. if the new smaller diffs have 30% less teeth, then you reduce friction by minimum 30%.
