hi there,how do you know when your diff is to loose,when i go round a corner and give it full throttle mid corner it seemes to just sit there,untill all four wheels are pointing up the stright then it will fly,it seemes fine on flowing corners its just the tight ones,iv got quite a bit of body roll,i adjusted the rear antiroll bar to 5mm showing,it seemed a bit better as i got less body roll,but still alot more that other cars,im on 3 holes on the pistons with everything as kit,everyone elses car seem really flat through the corners

Hi PDX, I think I am measuring the same as you. I slide the ride height guage under the front(or rear) of the chassis, at the the mid line point, until I get the ride height, then I continue to push the guage in until the tyres leave the floor. this is JUST leave. The difference is the droop.

But I have not set the car to the droop I want. I have set ride height and downstops to the measurements on the basic setup sheet from Xray. The droop measurement is the result of these two settings. So I am assuming that the XRAY basic setup recommendation is for a front droop iro 3.4 and 4 for the rear because that is what I am seeing from the standard kit setup.

Now as I alluded to earlier I think, tyres maybe come into this. We have always used Take-Off but we have to use control tyres in the various regional series and some of these have a different diameter, ie 65 vs 63 for the Take-Off and this to my reckoning gives you an extra 1mm of ride height.
I have never thought on this before, purely noticed that the tyre warmers were tighter on these tyres an perhaps stupidly never thought through the implications of this until recently.

So to achieve the desired ride height you would modify the spring compression adjustement by 1mm with the bigger tyres. Now whether this translates into a droop measurement change I have no idea; I am not good enough to work it out in my head but intend trying it out practically on the bench.

Maybe that is why Hugo was quoting figures in the 2s

hi there,thanks for all your help,iv bought my self some droop blocks and a gauge,i took off the wheels,put the blocks under the car,put the gauge under the arms avoiding the grub screw(thanks YELLOWSHARK)and the front was on the zero and the rear was on 2,iv changed it know to 5 in the rear and 6 in the front,i will be running it tomorrow so i will let you know how it went
