XRAY - Model racing cars

I just order the big bore shocks with the silver springs, I wanted to know which car I should put them on which will give me the biggest up grade, my EC or XT8

No such luck since both the EC and XT8 use same shocks so no matter what one will be lacking. This way you can compare the 2 cars and tell us what you think about the Jammins.

I wouldnt even care if there was a performance upgrade since I am so happy I dont have to rebuild the shocks every race or practice and find air gaps any longer. That to me was worth the cost and is benefit enough but they do help the handling quite a bit especially if I could drive better, lol.

The short standoffs arent needed but neither is the exact same amount of toe on the front left and right wheels, it should still work.

After the heats on my last race the some of the prelaod adjusters had moved, some screwed upwards. Has anyone else had this?

i ran about half a gallon on sunday testing the setups and no movement at all,i mark my shock adjusting rings with a triangle file so it leaves a nice adjusting line so you can see if they move.

have you put the o rings in the adjusting nut?

yes i did, i noticed the adjuster does scrape the tower, not when its static but when it's flexing. Maybe i'll shim it out a bit.

thats what you get for running short standoffs(pmsl and awaiting barrage of long v short )

yes try a shim behind it and see if that cures it.

Just fitted the Ofna super bores to my XT8 last night and although I don't race until this weekend I was already impressed. They seem to be much smoother than the stock ones they replaced, I'm running the 1.4's with 35f/30r as it's gonna be cold at the indoor track this weekend. I couldn't beleive how much smoother the rebound and compression was compared to the stock ones hopefully it will show on the track. Now I need to decide if I should purchase another set for the EC or if I'm going to upgrade to the 808 when it's released.

Thats them. I say you need them and others say you dont but you can decide when you see the need to force the shock into the arm with out the short stand offs.

Look at my pics and it will make perfect sense why I think they are needed and for the price I am not sure why some try to suggest its not needed when they clearly are.
