XRAY - Model racing cars

done a 2ft drop test and it packs nicely now, it belly flopped with the 1.4 holes

right had a chance to play today on a local astroturf track(deerdale),quite bumpy and very grippy but loads of jumps where you are landing off the jumps smack onto the floor,no downsides to land smoothly on so the shocks take a real pounding,some of the jumps are maybe 2 feet high...2 of them you are landing flat to floor from 4+ feet high.

temperature today was 3 degrees C with a very bitter wind

i only had white springs to hand:

tried with 1.4 pistons and not enough pack,car would bounce under landing
front settled on 1.3 pistons 40wt.
rear with 1.3 35wt was too heavy,car was bouncing like a pogo stick
rear with 1.3 30wt middle hole on wishbone was better
rear with 1.3 25wt outer hole was even better but still needs a bit more pack..however,the harder and more aggresive i was with the car over the jumps the better it liked it so i may stick with that setup for the next race and see how we go from there.

remember its bitterly cold in the uk at the moment so thats having a big effect on the oil choice.

were they any better than the xray shocks?
hmm..tough one,they seemed to stay more consistent but i wouldnt say the car handled the bumps any different,but i need to test more with some 1.2mm pistons maybe and /or different springs.
