for a old git like me....what is the best way to fit the tyres to the wheel!!!!

what order...tips...!!!!!!

I seem to fit them but there is always one part of the tyre which doesnt fit into the grove bit of the wheel and I SO dont want to start using the glue...

her in doors will only nag that I have it on her best kitchen table!!

I had the same problem with the tires on the rims. I trimmed away all the "burs" (excess rubber) off the edges of the tires and it did the trick. Some of them were so minor, but it still prevented a proper fit. The tires for me was the hardest part of putting this thing together....lol

it helps to use a REAL thin glue. so you can basicly mount them where they need to go then pull the bead back a bit to get the glue in . it sets instantly almost. and i use a dremmel to roughen up the rims where the tire is gonna seat. the glue is -Associated tire adhesive #1597 and this is the best glue ive found.

I do close to exactly what Z-Man does. I dremel the tire bead that will hit the rim (this removes the molding release, I prefer this way instead of using motorspray), dremel the wheel to roughen it up, use Losi thin glue, and a set of Panther tire bands will save your life! Don't forget the little teflon tube that comes with Losi glue is the best thing for glueing your tires. Cut off a half inch, turn the glue bottle upside down and squeeze it a little to get a drop of glue to the tip, turn it back over and stick half of the teflon tube into the bottle. It is best to wait about 5 minutes to let the glue lock in the teflon piece if you can. Now you can get the glue controllably deeper into the tire.

Ack, don't forget your tire holes. Do them in the tire not the rim. Depending on the track I do different things. Typically I cut four slits near the center between two pins, I do this in 4 places on the tire. The slits allow heated air to go out, but when cleaning no water gets in. However, if the track is very rough, I will do four holes with a dremel or hole punch so the tire reacts faster to the bumps. Not sure if it actually does, I just feel better when I do for those conditions.

Don't forget after you do the holes and dremeling the tire, to turn the tire inside out and brush out all the rubber bits. If you leave those in, they will eat up your foams quicker.
