XRAY - Model racing cars

Hello all, I am new to the nitro on-road world and I have a ton of questions. I have decided to get a NT1 after comparing this great car to Mugen and Kyosho, which some say they are all the same. Hopefully, I am making a great choice? I plan to get into the racing world as well. But for right now I want to get practice on tuning and driving before i get on the track racing competively. Enough, here is my questions:

1. Can an O.S. 18TZ(P) Turbo Slide, O.S. EB Modified 18TZ(P), and an O.S. 21VZ-R Turbo II fit the NT1? If so, are they a direct fit?

2. What are the best servos to use? I have a M11 2.4
3. Does the kit comes with the new ALU shock absorbers?
4. I have seen places say they have the new 2008 version, so what is and what does this kit come with?
5. What will I need for any hop-ups or needed parts or options while building the NT1.
6. What bump boxes is everyone using? I have seen someone say the TM X5, but I can't find it?
7. What receiver pack is best fit?
8. What size tires doe the NT1 run? Is it like the Mugen with 30mm in the rear and 26mm in the front?

I have a bunch more questions but for now that's it. I would greatly appreciate if you all would help me out.

Hello and welcome to the Xray community!

First, you have made the right choice to choose the Xray NT1. The car is really great. Easy to built and also easy to drive fast with it and for you, as a newbie, you have the great Setup-Book where is everything explained how to setup your car.

1. About the engines. They don´t fit in the Xray NT1 and I for myself don´t really prefer OS Engines.
Take a closer look to the Novarossi Plus 12-3, REX LR3 or Max Power SL3. It´s important that you look that it´s a .12 engine.

2. I use the Kopropo PDS-2413 servos. There a smaller than the other and really fast.

3. Now, the kit hasn´t the alu absorbers. But there are not really necessary.

4. the only diffrent is, that the 008 version has front cvd´s compare to bones. thats all.

5. you don´t need hopups. just built the car and improve you driving

6. there are a lot of diffrent boxes available. there are not really diffrents. just look. The TM X5 is ok. I´m still hoping Hudy will offer one!

7. just take one with 5 cells and AAA batteries. Xray also offer one. part number: 339111

8. yes, in this class, you always run tires with 30mm rear and 26mm in the front

Regarding your choice of engines I suppose you do not want to race competitions because then you will need a .12 engine.

Yes. the OS.18 as many other .15 and .18 based on smallblocks should fit.
.21 is a "bigblock" and will not fit (unless you know how to make and modify stuff ). And do not get fooled if you think bigger is faster....
No pull starter or Rotostart will fit !

There is no direct need for alu shocks, in the way you are going to use the car you will not notice/gain performance.

You can use any receiver pack based on 5 cells 2/3A as many brands deliver in the range of 1200 to 1600mAh

Tires are indeed 30mm rear en 26mm front

As starterbox you can use any universal type made for belt driven cars.

Sorry, my mistake. I also mean 2/3A batteries. They fit perfectly.
