Was you running 6 cells ? if so what spurs and pinion you using and battery bars ?

And here is the picture of mine hitting the pinion

And yes the pinion is against the battery bar. Also note that the pinion contact area on the spur is also reduced to try and help. This shows the nature of the issue. Two of the guys in the club have now cancelled theirs orders inc the shop until a resolution is found. :(

In the tradditional way if it don't fit get a big hammer to it. Here's the result using an RW pinion. It's close but useable and thats a 27T pinion. The gaps not as big as you think, don't forget picture is enlarged, but it should work.

:?: My question now is that as the battery bar is touching outer case whats the risk of shorting that cell :?:

Andy, I don't know what you were driving before, T2/T2'007, but I hope you didn't sell it already. Seems Xray is moving backwards instead of forwards, there was never any problems like mentioned above with previous cars.

No I still kept my 007 it's been a fanastic car from start to end just like my original T2 was.

This is the first time I have had problems with an XRAY car :(

I am going to try converting the car to the 1.7 gear ration changing the gears so I can keep the current ratio I need for stock. I will let you know how I get on as I need to change a few parts.

I spoke with Mirage aboffin today and they have been a great help and gave me some good ideas :D . I will also fit my spare Multi-diff as well from my T2'007 as I always preferred a oneway myself hopefully this will be straight forward.

If all goes to plan I should be up and running this by Friday with the gearing I need. Then once the new spurs/pins become available I will try those as well. Lets hope I can get it up and running for our winter series this Sunday. :D

After having a think about the spurs i've just spent 10 mins and now an RW spur will fit fine.(Sorry about naming another supplier)
Quite simple really?
Take the blackplastic spacer that sits against the spur and sand it down, thickness wise,by about .5mm.
Replace the 3 x 4mm button head screws with 5mm ones, just lightly sand the head of each screw by .25mm with a bit of wet+dry,so that they dont catch the side of the belt.
I know that maybe this shouldnt have been an issue but heh stuff happens, and after owning a T2,NT1,XB8 and a '007 this is the first issue i've ever had with XRay so not too bad really.

Job done.

Paul.
