XRAY - Model racing cars

Personally I have never understood why you would want to use the fixed shocks; may be they are bit more "solid"? My take would be that if you predominantly drive indoors at the same location then they may be worth it. But if you drive outdoors with variability of conditions and/or visit different tracks then the ability to make quick shock adjustments as you get tuned to the conditions would make the adjustable shocks the way to go. Anyway that's why I use them!

YOU have to decide that... The advantage of the adjustable pistons is that you can change your damper-setup without having to rebuilt the whole dampers. With them you can easily choose between 1,2,3 or 4 holes which are open, just by turning the piston CW or CCW (see setup book) - so how hard the damping is.
I've put in the adjustable ones in my car. I don't know whether there is an advantage of the non-adjustables at all ?!

Well Savo I read Mario's post as saying there is no disadvantage in using the adjustable shocks and that making the "fixed" shocks available was really a (understandable) marketing move. Makes the decison fairly simple then

the only disadvantage with the adjustable is you obviously have to make sure that all four pistons are on the same settings.
but the advantages are massive
eg to try one more/less hole to see the affect. if its no good switch back all in 2 seconds without getting shock oil all over the shop.

Not quite; settings for front and rear can be and often will be different. Left and right should be the same,unless of course doing an oval race
