In the end I shimmed it and took a small amount off the servo side of the servo horn. It does seem strange the way you set the steering up with the servo horn fwd of vertical for straight ahead. You seem to get far better responce when the servo moves to the back of the car than the front. As it moves fwds you get very near to the ponit when servo movement is not translated into steering at all if that makes sense!! any way ran the car seemed ok but i might look into it a bit further...

I had the same thing when I converted...

I had a t2r and had to shave some off the servo horn, and when I upgraded to the 007, it caught on the top deck.

I took it all apart and looked carefully at the diagram, the little ball end that goes into the horn was on the wrong side (as per the t2r it was on the side of the top deck). I changed it over to the side closest to the servo and there's no issues now
